Bahia em alerta com possibilidade de tsunami

O nível de alerta foi aceso por autoridades da Espanha para erupção do vulcão Cumbre Vieja, na ilha de La Palma, na costa da África.

O vulcão pode provocar um tsunami que atingiria todas as Américas, com impactos que chegariam ao Brasil, em especial nas regiões Norte e Nordeste do país.

A informação foi divulgada pelo portal “MetSul Meteorologia” nesta semana. Adormecido há décadas, o Cumbre Vieja começou a mostrar sinais de atividade “moderada” nos últimos dias.

Embora as chances de tsunamis na costa do país sejam raras, um fenômeno desse tipo já aconteceu por aqui. O perfil no Twitter da Rede Sismográfica Brasileira lembrou, numa postagem de 1º de novembro de 2020, quando um tsunami atingiu o litoral do Nordeste em 1755.
